COVID-19 Protocol

What safety measures has Modern Charcuterie implemented in response to COVID-19?

At Modern Charcuterie, the health, safety, and wellbeing of our clients is our utmost priority. Our staff is required to participate in a mandatory routine health check and receive ongoing guidance from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the city of New York on maintaining a healthy and safe work environment to prevent further spread of the virus.


Health & Safety

Where are the boards assembled?

All boards are assembled in a fully-licensed, FDA-registered commercial kitchen facility.


Product

Are the pictures on the website actual images of your charcuterie boards?

We receive this question very often. Yes! All images of the boards featured on the Modern Charcuterie website are authentic images of our product offering.

Sustainable sourcing is integral to our business. We have partnered with a select number of local suppliers that grow seasonal produce and source sustainable charcuterie, cheeses and accompaniments.

We are pleased to share that the majority of our produce is sourced directly from its native region.

What is the typical shelf life?

Boards are typically consumed within 3-4 hours of delivery. Boards may be consumed within 2-3 days if refrigerated.

Can I add wine or champagne to a board order?

Yes. A bottle of wine and/or champagne may be included as an “add on” to our boards.


Ordering

If I place my order now, when should I expect to receive the delivery?

As each board is freshly assembled, 48-hour advanced notice is required to fulfill all orders. Online orders placed by 1 PM EST can be hand delivered to the five boroughs of New York City, lower Westchester County and Northern NJ (Hudson County & sections of Bergen County) starting 48 hours later.

Please note that you may place your order as far in advance of your desired delivery date as you would like (i.e. online order placed on January 5 for a scheduled delivery of January 18).

Can I arrange to have a same or next day rush order?

We occasionally have the capacity to accommodate rush orders, however on a very limited basis. For inquiries related to same or next day orders, please visit the Rush Delivery page to inquire.

Please note that if a request for a rush order is accepted (less than 48 hours advanced notice), there will be an additional $75 rush order fee applied.

How do I check on the status of my order?

May I place a custom charcuterie board order?

Unfortunately not. While we attempt to accommodate dietary restrictions, we do not offer customization of our boards at this time.


Gifting

Can I add a gift message to my order?

Yes, you may add a gift message to your order during checkout. Please note that gift messages have a maximum number of 350 characters.

What gift packaging options do you offer?

If a board is ordered as a gift, you may select our gift wrap option ($8). The board will be wrapped with a satin bow (assorted colors available) and includes a personalized card.


Billing & Charges

What is the fee for delivery outside of New York City?

The fee for hand delivery outside of the five boroughs of New York City is $35.

How soon after placing an order will my credit card be charged?

We receive authorization for the credit card charge at the time of purchase.

What is your refund policy?

At Modern Charcuterie, our goal is to provide a beautiful and memorable entertaining experience for both you and your guests. We stand behind the quality and presentation of our boards as each order goes through an extensive quality check before it leaves our facility. In the unlikely event that our product does not live up to these standards, please contact us immediately and we will do our very best to resolve the issue in a timely manner.

 

Delivery

Where exactly do you deliver within the New York City metropolitan area?

Modern Charcuterie hand delivers to the five boroughs of New York City (Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens and Staten Island), lower Westchester County and Northern NJ (Hudson County & sections of Bergen County).

Do you deliver outside of the New York City metropolitan area?

At this time we do not deliver outside of the New York City metropolitan area.

Please join our subscription list to be notified of updates related to expanding our existing delivery range.

At what time can I expect my delivery to arrive?

Residential deliveries will arrive no later than 7 PM ET Sunday-Monday. Business deliveries will arrive no later than 5 PM ET Monday-Friday.

Can I order now for a delivery date in the future?

Yes, you may place your order as far in advance of your desired delivery date as you would like (i.e. online order placed on Sunday, January 5 for a scheduled delivery of Saturday, January 18). On the ordering page, we have a feature that enables you to indicate a future delivery date.

Will I receive an email confirmation that my gift has been shipped or hand delivered?

Yes. You will receive an email confirmation after your board has been delivered, which includes proof of delivery (the name of the individual who accepted the delivery and the confirmed delivery time).

What if I am not at home or in the office when a delivery attempt is made?

If the recipient is not at the address at the time of delivery, the Modern Charcuterie delivery team will attempt to contact the recipient directly. If we are unsuccessful in contacting the recipient, we will attempt to leave the delivery with an appropriate party who will ensure delivery to the recipient, i.e. doorman, concierge or neighbor. Oftentimes, our delivery team is not permitted to bring the delivery directly to the recipient and are required to leave the package with a doorman or in a mailroom. We require the signature of the person who accepts the delivery. Otherwise, we will bring the board back to our location and make arrangements for redelivery.


Private Events

How do I place an order for a charcuterie table for my event?

Please schedule a complimentary consultation to discuss your event goals and to learn more about our private events offering.

Is there a deposit required to secure an event date?

Yes. There is a 50% deposit required to secure the event date. The remaining 50% is due 7 days prior to the event date.

Do you assist with set up at the event location?

Yes. We will assist with table styling and arrange the charcuterie table in advance of the start of the event. This includes the arrangement and display of the boards, serving plates and utensils and incorporating florals, botanicals and other decorative items to the events display.

Will I need to return the serving equipment used? If so, by when?

All speciality event boards, serving equipment and decorative items utilized must be available for pickup within 48 hours of your event date. If the event equipment is unavailable for pick up within the 8-hour required time frame, a $250 late fee will be incurred.


Virtual Experiences

What exactly is a Modern Charcuterie virtual experience?

Our virtual experiences offer the unique opportunity of connecting with friends, family or business associates to create a fully customizable offering that allows you to gather with family and friends or engage with colleagues for a unique and interactive culinary experience in a virtual setting.

How long are the virtual experiences?

Our virtual experiences vary in length, but are typically 1-1.5 hours in length.

Can I create a custom theme?

Yes! A few examples of our themed virtual experiences include, Artisanal Cheeses of France, Charcuterie & Wine Pairing 101, Organic and Biodynamic Food & Wine and Women Winemakers of the World.

How many participants can join the virtual experiences at a time?

We require a minimum of 12 participants. We have found that the more intimate virtual tastings incite higher interaction and engagement amongst the participants.

How will each guest receive their package?

We will arrange to have a beautifully assembled package of quality items, curated specific to your virtual program, hand delivered to the homes of each of your guests. Please note to participate in our virtual experiences, each attendee must be located within the five boroughs of New York City, lower Westchester County or Northern NJ (Hudson County & sections of Bergen County).


Privacy

Is my personal data secure?

Yes. All personal data provided during the ordering process is encrypted for your protection.

Is my information kept private?

We respect your privacy. The personal information that you provide Modern Charcuterie with, including your name, mailing address, e-mail address, telephone number and credit card information, is not shared with any other company or organization.

Do I need to provide my email address?

Yes, we will need your email address in order to communicate information related to your online order to you. We will use your email address only when confirming your online order, notifying you of updates related to our product offerings or updates sent to members of our mailing list.
